This division serves the need of the food and beverage industries, federal government institutions
and projects, and world food programs such as the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition
(GAIN); with vitamins and minerals technologies and solutions that add value to their products.
Food and beverages fortified with vitamins and minerals go a long way to eradicate the hidden
hunger of micronutrient deficiencies. Furthermore, such foods improve the mental and physical
development of our children and adolescents.

for any population group. In order to achieve the millennium development goals (MDG) of
eradicating all forms of micronutrient malnutrition in developing economies such as Nigeria, we
engage in research and development of micronutrient applications and their impact on the wellbeing of our people. UNICEF, WHO, UN, and Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN),
support the MDG.
Deficiencies of essential micronutrients are important public health issues across Africa and Asia.

geared towards addressing the specific challenges of micronutrient malnutrition in our region.
